If you would prefer to use a WiFi connection at home or in the office, rather than the 3G connection, then go to Menu – Settings – Connectivity. Then select Settings – Known WLANs only
You can assign a photo to each of your contact. To do this, locate the contact you want to assign the photo to. When you see the green Avatar icon, press on it. You will be presented with an Add image option. Press this and choose an image from you gallery
If you have an app that you no longer require, you can remove it by going to Menu – Settings – Application Manager – Installed apps. Then long press on the app you would like to remove and select Uninstall
You can remove the default widgets on your home screen. Press and hold on a blank spot on the home screen. Then click on the unwanted icon and a Remove option will come up. Press this and the widget will be removed
When you receive messages a light next to the menu will light up. You can change the duration of this notification light by going to Menu – Settings – Phone – Notification light – Notification light. Then select the desired duration
If you are worried about your phone being stolen, you can allow remote locking of the device by text message. To activate, go to Menu – Settings – Phone – Phone management – Security settings – Phone and SIM card – Remote phone locking. Enable this and choose a Remote Locking Message. This should be at least 5 characters. Then set a PIN to unlock the phone.
To activate the lock, simply text this Remote Locking Message to your phone
The phone has a handy feature if your battery is running low. It will disconnected Bluetooth, dim the screen, change from GSM to 3G and disable the screensaver.
Press and hold a blank area on your homescreen. Then click on the Plus sign and select Mail from the list of widgets. You can create a new mailbox account, or use an existing one
If you want to quickly call a contact you can simply slide the keyboard open and start typing their name. They will appear on the screen. From there you can either call or long-press on their name to send a text
