To turn off the camera shutter sound follow these steps:

Go to Start – Applications list – Settings – Ringtones + sounds. Then press Camera shutter to turn it off.

This can be useful if you are taking photos in a quiet place, so that you do not disturb others.

This option might not be available in all regions however.

To PIN music or playlists to your start menu, go to your Music player.

Then select the music file or playlist you want.

Then Press and Hold on an item and select Pin to start

A handy feature is to automatically backup your photos to Skydrive. To enable this feature, go to Settings – Pictures & camera. Change Auto Upload to On

To change the homescreen background to white, then start from the homescreen and scroll to the right.

Then choose Settings – Theme.

You can then change the theme from dark/black to light/white.

While playing a song, press the Album cover. This will then give you the option to rate the song. Press the heart to Love It. Press it again to Hate It. Then when you sync your phone, it won’t sync the music you don’t like

To add Google Calendar to your phone, go to Settings – Emails – Google email.

From here you can sync your emails, contacts and calendar to the phone.

In the Maps application, you can share any location with a friend. First you need to find your location. Open Maps, then find your location. Press and hold to drop a Pin on that location. You can drag the Pin to get a more precise location.

Then press the Pin and select Share. Then choose to share via SMS or Email.

To clear your browsing history so that no one can see which websites you have been browsing, go to Settings – Applications – Search.

Then select Delete History

To change the screen lock timeout, go to Settings – Lock & wallpaper. Then choose the duration before the screen locks.

This is handy so you don’t accidentally bump the keys when the phone is in your pocket. It will also improve your battery life.

To find your MAC address, go to the homescreen and scroll to the right.

Choose Settings – About. Then press More information. The MAC address should be shown next to the SIM ID.

You can also try opening the Phone app (dialler), then dial ##634# and press Call.

Then from the Diagnostics screen dial *#1234#

This may not work on all phones.
