To change the screen lock timeout, go to Settings – Lock & wallpaper. Then choose the duration before the screen locks.

This is handy so you don’t accidentally bump the keys when the phone is in your pocket. It will also improve your battery life.

To skip to the next track in a playlist, press the Track list below the album cover. This will let you move through the playlist

When browsing on your phone you may notice images can be quite blurry or distorted. This is because your network provider is compressing the images before they are downloaded on to your device.

Unfortunately there is no way to override this, but if you have a WiFi connection nearby, then you can turn that on. This will mean that all image downloads come through the WiFi connection, rather than your carrier, and the images should appear normally.

To shuffle your music tracks, then start playing some music.

To create a conference call on your phone, you need to first call someone.

Then when they are on the line, press the Down arrow on the screen and press Add to call and select another Contact.

Then when you’ve found the second person, press Merge calls

If you are using a Nokia Windows Phone, then Dolby will give you better sound quality for your music files.

First insert your headphones, then go to Settings – Audio. From here you can adjust some predetermined settings or else you can swipe right and press Playback. This will enable Dolby playback which will improve the sound quality measurably.

After you have finished typing a sentence, simply double tap the spacebar. This will insert a period (full stop), a space and capitalise the first word of the next sentence

Your phone has a neat feature where if you’re running late for appointment, you can quickly notify the person you’re supposed to be meeting.

First, go to your Calendar App and you should see four options at the bottom. One of these should say Late and should have a symbol of a person running.

Press this and the person you’re meeting will be notified with some sorry text.
