If you like to see how long your calls are taking, you can turn this feature on. Go to Menu – Settings – Calling – Call. Then enable Show call duration

If you want to see the duration after the call, go to Menu – Settings – Call. Then enable Summary after call

There is a very easy way to transfer your contacts, calendar events, bookmarks, messages etc from your old phone.

First you need to get both devices and turn Bluetooth on. Then on your N8, go to Menu – Settings – Phone switch. Then select the middle icon (receive data). Then press Continue and find your old phone in the list of Bluetooth devices. When it asks for a passcode, just type in anything (for example 1234) and press Ok.

Then go to the old phone and type in the same Passcode.

On your N8 you will be given some options of what data you would like to receive. Select the data types you want, and press Ok.

On your old phone you should be asked if you want to Allow synchronisation, so select Yes. Your data transfer should begin. Be patient as it may take awhile depending on how much data you want to transfer

If you want to switch between USB modes without unplugging your cable, simply press on the battery icon in the top notification bar and change it from there

You can have a different wallpaper on each home screen. To change these, press Options – Edit home screen. Then choose Options – Change wallpaper. Press Image to set your own home screen. You will be then taken to your Gallery to select an image

When you receive messages a light next to the menu will light up. You can change the duration of this notification light by going to Menu – Settings – Phone – Notification light – Notification light. Then select the desired duration

By default when you plug your phone in to a computer, it chooses the Nokia OVI suite. If you would prefer the standard USB mass storage option (so the phone appears as a hard drive), go to Menu – Settings – Connectivity – USB. Then select Mass storage
