To fix touchscreen sensitivity issues, follow these:

1. On your dialler, dial *#2663#. This will bring up a menu.

2. Bring up dialler and dial *#2663# to bring up a menu

3. On that menu, tap the button that says ?TSP FW update (general)?

4. Once you press that, a pop-up will appear saying ?Updating, do not turn off.? Just wait for it to finish updating.

5. A message saying ?update complete: pass? should appear once update is complete.

6. Exit the menu by pressing the back button and try out your device. It should be fixed now.

To open a web page in a new tab, find a link on a web page. Then press on it and then choose to open the site in a new tab.

If you don’t want to have to unlock your screen every time you take your device out of standby then go to Settings – Lock screen and security.

Then select the Screen lock type that is currently selected.

You will be asked to unlock your phone, for security purposes.

Then on the next screen, scroll down and select the None option.

If you see the following error:
com.system.patch error

Then pull down your notification menu and choose Settings.

Then, select Lock screen and security – Other security settings – Device Administrator.

On the next screen, uncheck com.system.patch

Now, go to your App Manager and you should be able to uninstall it.

Most Android devices come with an alternative way of entering text called Swype. Many prefer this method and believe it is quicker.

When any text entry box appears, press and hold the box. Then select Input method: SWYPE. Once enabled, you simply drag your finger around the keyboard moving over the letters in the correct order to spell a word.

There are a number of ways to get your IMEI number.

First, you can go to Settings – About device or About phone. Then select Status. Scroll down and select IMEI information.

Secondly, often the box that your device came in will have the IMEI printed on the label of the box or on the invoice.

Thirdly, if your device has a removable battery then open the cover and remove the battery. Your IMEI should be on a serial number plate and your IMEI number should be shown there.

Lastly, from the Phone App, enter *#06# and it should be displayed on the screen. This won’t work on all phones and all networks however.

With the recent versions of Android you can now take photos while recording video by simply pressing the screen.

This will save that particular frame to the gallery while continuing to record video.

If you want to resize your home screen widgets, then press and hold on a widget for 2 seconds. If the widget is resizable, then an outline will appear around the widget. Simply drag the sides to resize the widget.

If the outline doesn’t appear or you can’t drag the lines, then the widget is a fixed sized widget.

To stop the Photo App or the Music player from indexing your files, place a blank text file called .nomedia in the folder containing your photos or music.

The best way to do this is to connect your device to a PC and then navigate to the relevant folder via your PC.

Predictive text is a great feature on modern smartphones, but sometimes you’ll prefer to correct your own mistakes.

To disable this feature, then go to Settings – General management – Language and input.

Then select the keyboard you are using and press the Settings icon again.

You should be able to find a predictive text option on this screen.
