As you are aware, smartphones are some of the more popular digital devices on the market. Regardless of their small size, they pack quite a punch. And, as technology continues to progress, you can be certain that these devices are going to become even more powerful.

In fact, when compared to devices like tablets, you can safely guarantee that smartphones are going to win that competition. Still, when most people use their smartphones, they are only tapping into a small portion of the device’s true potential. Just imagine how much more useful your phone would be if you could optimize your usage. Below, you will find some ways to try this out.

Immobilize Bloatware

You may have noticed that your phone comes equipped with certain apps and features. Now, some of these are quite useful and are worth keeping around. At the same time, there are a number of apps that do nothing except take up space and slow down your phone. The good news is that some of these apps can be removed. If you have an Android phone, you should be able to disable the function in the app store. Or, you can alter the settings on the menu. In some cases, though, you may not be able to do so, but there is still a solution to remedy the situation. You will need to access the app menu via the main system settings. Here, you will be able to find settings that allow you to disable that particular feature.

Use Your Phone for Research More Easily

You probably use your phone quite a bit to browse the internet. While relying on apps may be simple enough, reading web pages on your phone may not be a very comfortable experience, particularly when it comes to word-heavy articles. If you want to be able to read the text without an issue, go to the Chrome web browser. There, you will need to enter Chrome://flags into the URL bar. Then, locate the Reader Mode Toolbar icon and set the Reader Mode triggering option to Always. This way, all web pages, and articles will be a great deal simpler to go through.

Try a Different Home Screen

You have probably never questioned the structure or organization of the home screen of your smartphone. After all, you simply get used to what’s installed on the Android or iPhone that you buy. In fact, the home screen is quite important, as it determines just how quickly and efficiently you can use your phone. Thus, installing a home screen that offers a better design can shave off quite a bit of time. Luckily, there are alternatives such as Action Launcher and Nova Launcher. These allow you to organize apps and features so that they are more easily accessible and manageable.

Capture the Night Sky Better

Have you ever gazed at a beautiful night sky and tried to capture it with your phone camera? Were you disappointed by how dull and dismal the resulting image was? This is because most phone cameras aren’t actually designed to capture nighttime photography. Fortunately, though, there are several ways you can remedy the situation. Two of the simplest things you can do is to take pictures in a dark place, with minimal light pollution. You will also need to gently clean the lens of your camera for the best image. For truly stunning images, you will need to download a third-party app like the NightCap Pro one. After all, these apps have been specifically tailored to work in such settings and will offer the best results.

Modify Your Phone to Help You Sleep

Since most people rely on their smartphone for everything, you probably use your phone until you doze off. Nonetheless, you may have heard that the blue light emitted by phone screens disrupt your sleep and prevent you from getting a proper rest. To cut down on this, alter the light settings on your phone. If you have a new Android device that’s equipped with the latest Android 9 Pie OS, you can activate the Wind Down option. For older models, you will need to download a blue light filter app. With iOS devices, you can use the Night Shift mode which will create an automatic filter for your phone.

These are some methods you can use to take your smartphone usage to the next level. So, go ahead and try out these tips right away.
