To show the Browser History, open your Android stock browser (the default browser). Then press the Menu or More button and select Settings. Then Advanced – Manage website data.
To clear history, go to Privacy and Delete personal data.
Your phone comes with a handy widget which lets you kill all running tasks. This is great if you want to quickly free up some memory.
To use the widget, press and hold for 2 seconds on a blank part of any homescreen. Then find the Active Apps Manager widget and install it.
Once that is done, press the widget and it will show you all currently running Apps. Press End all to close all running Apps.
If you like your Apps neatly sorted into folders, then there is a simple way to accomplish this.
First find the first App you would like in a folder. Then choose a second App. Press and hold on the second App and drag it over the top of the first App. They will both combine into a folder.
You can repeat this process to add more.
Once you have done this grouping, you can give specific name to that folder. For that just open the folder (containing different apps), and tap on Unnamed Folder tab and add your desired name.
If you have a frield, child, or family member who frequently borrows your phone, but you want to make sure that your personal settings and apps don’t get messed up, using Guest Mode on your Xiaomi Mi 8 Se is the best solution.
Now not all phone models have a Guest Mode feature, but if your Xiaomi Mi 8 Se model has this, just follow the steps below to activate it:
- On the home screen, swipe down using two fingers.
- Look for the User icon (usually located at the top-right portion of the screen).
- Tap “Add Guest.”
- Fill in the form and follow other instructions to set up the Guest Mode profile.
- You may also tweak the settings of each profile by tapping on the Guest or User profile. This includes access to contacts, making calls, sending messages, and even access to images and other files.
- Just tap on a Guest/User name to use that mode. If you want to exit Guest Mode, just tap on your main user profile or remove the guest account entirely.
This method generally works for Android phone users. However, certain brands may have different variations in setting up the Guest profile. For Huawei phone users, you can add up to 3 guest user accounts.
Just follow these steps:
- Go to Settings → Users & Accounts → Users
- Tap “Add User” then start setting up the User Profile.
- Alternatively, you can tap “Add Guest” instead. From there, you can also set up the Guest profile.
You can manually set up the settings and allowable activities per user or guest. Just tap on a guest/user profile and tick certain boxes of which they may be allowed to do. This includes making calls, sending messages, and sharing contact records.
If you want to clear your website browser history, cache or cookies on the Xiaomi Mi 8 Se because you don’t want other people to snoop around (or you just want to clean up your list), then that is actually very easy to do. Just follow these steps:
- First, open the browser you use and look for the Menu or “More” button/icon.
- Then go to History → Clear Browsing Data.
- At the top, you will see that you can choose to delete data from a week or several months ago. You may also choose to delete everything by tapping “All Time.”
- You will see a list of data that you can tap to clear. You can clear cache, cookies, passwords, browser history and more.
- Be aware that if you delete cookies you will have to login to your online accounts again.
- Then, select browser history, then tap “Clear Data.”
This method generally works if you use Chrome on your phone. If you have multiple devices that use your Google Chrome account, you might notice that your browser history, cache and cookies are also reflected on other devices. These may get deleted too if you delete them from your phone.
If you don’t want this to happen, you can turn off sync on your device. This means that the browser history, cache, cookies, and other private data will just be removed from your phone alone.
To turn off sync on your Chrome, just follow these steps:
- Make sure you have already logged in your Google Account on Chrome.
- On Chrome, click on your Profile / Account icon (located at the top right portion).
- Look for Sync is On → Turn Off
- After this, you can delete your browser history, cache, and cookies on your phone without removing it on your other devices.
For Samsung phone users who are using the default Samsung Internet browser, you can clear your browser history, cache and cookies in a similar way to that of Chrome users. Just follow these steps:
- Open the Samsung Internet browser.
- Tap on the Menu icon.
- Go to Settings → Privacy and Security
- Scroll down to Personal Data then tap “Delete Browsing Data.”
- A list will open up and you can tap to delete other data such as cache, cookies, passwords, location data, among others.
- Select “Browsing History” then tap “Delete.”
If you are using a different browser, the steps are almost the same. The key is to look for your browser’s settings and look for the “Privacy” or “Data” section.
How to clear the cache on your Xiaomi Mi 8 Se
To clear your phone’s cache, the steps are similar with that of clearing your browser history. All you have to do is click on your browser and open its Menu. For Google Chrome users, just follow these steps:
- Open Chrome and go to Menu or tap on the More (three-dotted) icon.
- Then go to History → Clear Browsing Data.
- At the top, you will see that you can choose to delete data from a week or months ago. You may also choose to delete everything by tapping “All Time.”
- You will see a list of data that you can tap to clear. You can clear cache, cookies, passwords, browser history and more.
- Just select Cache, then tap “Clear Data.”
For those who are using the default browser on Samsung phones, the steps are also similar with that of clearing your browser history:
- Open the Samsung Internet browser.
- Tap on the Menu icon.
- Go to Settings → Privacy and Security
- Scroll down to Personal Data then tap “Delete Browsing Data.”
- A list will open up and you can tap to delete other data such as cache, cookies, passwords, location data, among others.
- Select “Cache” then tap “Delete.”
If you are using a different type of browser, the steps are still quite similar. What you really have to look for is the Privacy, Data, or Security settings of your browser. Just open your browser and look for its Settings or “More” option.
How to Clear Cookies on the Xiaomi Mi 8 Se
Clearing cookies from your phone is done similarly with clearing your browser history and cache. For Google Chrome users, just use these steps:
- Open Chrome and go to Menu or tap on the More (three-dotted) icon.
- Then go to History → Clear Browsing Data.
- At the top, you will see that you can choose to delete data from a week or months ago. You may also choose to delete everything by tapping “All Time.”
- You will see a list of data that you can tap to clear. You can clear cache, cookies, passwords, browser history and more.
- Just select Cookies, then tap “Clear Data.”
For those who are using the default Samsung browser, you can follow these steps:
- Open the Samsung Internet browser.
- Tap on the Menu icon.
- Go to Settings → Privacy and Security
- Scroll down to Personal Data then tap “Delete Browsing Data.”
- A list will open up and you can tap to delete other data such as cache, cookies, passwords, location data, among others.
- Select “Cookies” then tap “Delete.”
For those who are using other types of mobile browsers, the steps would be similar. Just look for the Menu then look for your browser’s Privacy, Data, or Security options.
WARNING: Making your volume or music louder can damage your hearing.
Most phones have their volumes limited by local laws to protect your hearing. There is a way to boost your volume however.
Go to the Play Store and download an App called Volume Booster or Volume+ FREE or Ultimate Volume Booster
You may need to Root your phone for this App to work, but read the instructions in the App’s description.
If you regularly visit a website you can add a shortcut to your homescreen which can be quite useful, rather than entering the web address each time you want to visit the site.
You can either do this to an existing Bookmark, or simply a page you’re visiting:
1) Open your Browser App. Enter the website you want to bookmark. You may need to wait for the whole page to load first. Then press the phone’s Menu button or More at the top and select Add shortcut to home screen.
2) Open your Browser App. Find an existing Bookmark by pressing the Bookmarks icon at the bottom of the App. Select the Bookmark and repeat the above steps.
There are a couple of ways to bring up one of your contacts.
First, while in your Contacts App, simply start typing in the search bar at the top of the screen.
Or else a quicker method is to use the Google Search widget (installed by long pressing on a vacant part of your homescreen and installing the widget) and start typing the name of the contact you want to dial. This will quickly filter the correct contact.
Android now has a way to display your name, phone or email on your lock screen. Perfect if you have lost or misplaced your device.
To enable this go to Settings – Personal – Lock screen and security – Show information – Owner information.
Here you can enter any information you want, such as your name or email address.
To stop the Photo App or the Music player from indexing your files, place a blank text file called .nomedia in the folder containing your photos or music.
The best way to do this is to connect your device to a PC and then navigate to the relevant folder via your PC.
