Simply Press and Hold on a text message and choose Delete

Warning: This will remove ALL data on the phone.

To hard reset your phone, go to Start – Applications list – Settings. Then scroll to the bottom and choose About. Then press Reset your phone. Then press Yes.

If you can’t do that, then some alternative methods are as follows:

1) First press and hold the Camera + Volume Down + Power buttons simultaneously.
Then release the Power button when the phone vibrates – but continue to hold down Camera and Volume Down.
Then release the camera button and Volume Down when the Format prompt is displayed on screen.
Then press Windows button twice to confirm.

2) Turn the phone off. Then press and hold the power key until it vibrates. Then release.
Press and hold the Volume Down button. If the exclamation mark is displayed, then let go of the button.
Then input the follow sequence of keys: Volume Up – Volume Down – Power – Volume Down.

A neat feature is the idea of Rooms, which allow other Windows Phone users to share pictures, chat, make appointments and so on.

First, go to the People Hub and the word ‘together’ should appear. From here press the ‘+’ key at the bottom and then choose Room. Then choose a name and press the save button (floppy disc symbol) at the bottom.

Next, you can press the ‘+’ at the bottom and add people to the room, just like you would navigate your Contact list.

When you’ve added everyone you want to include, press the Tick symbol and your contacts will now be told about the new Room (assuming they have a Windows Phone).

If you prefer not to have the ‘Sent from my Windows Phone’ message at the bottom of emails, then here is how to remove it:

Go into Mail and press the 3 dots at the bottom of the screen. Select Settings and change it there

This is useful if you don’t want people to know that emails are being sent from your phone.

To move a tile to another location, simply press and hold a tile. Then drag it to another location

To turn off the camera shutter sound follow these steps:

Go to Start – Applications list – Settings – Ringtones + sounds. Then press Camera shutter to turn it off.

This can be useful if you are taking photos in a quiet place, so that you do not disturb others.

This option might not be available in all regions however.

If you want to type a word with a capital letter, you can press and hold on the Shift key, then slide your finger to the letter and then release. This saves having to press Shift then pressing the letter.

The same thing works for numbers – press and hold the &123 key, then slide your finger to a number and release. The keyboard will then return to the Alphabetical keyboard so you don’t need to toggle between the two

To import your contacts from your SIM card, then insert the SIM and turn the phone on.

Then go to People. Hold near the top of the screen and select Import SIM contacts.

The phone’s Browser is designed to use as much of the phone’s screen as possible, however this means the status bar is usually hidden.

To quickly view the status bar with Time, Battery Indicator and Signal Strength, quickly press More (…) or the Address Bar. This will show the bar. Alternatively you can press and hold the More button and drag it up slightly to reveal the status bar. Drag it down again to discard it.

To save or share pictures on websites, then find a picture you want to share/save.

Then press and hold on the image.

An option to share or save will appear.
