To find an address on maps, then go to a location by panning and zooming.

Then Press and Hold on a location to drop a pin.

This will give you the address of the location you have selected.

If the volume of your friends’ posts, comments and tweets becomes too much, you can filter them.

Go to Start, then flick left to the Applications list. Then press Settings – Applications – People. Then select Only show posts from people visible on my contact list.

Alternatively, you can go to Start – People. Then flick to What’s new – All accounts. Then select the account you want to view posts from.

To clear your browsing history so that no one can see which websites you have been browsing, go to Settings – Applications – Search.

Then select Delete History

To create a conference call on your phone, you need to first call someone.

Then when they are on the line, press the Down arrow on the screen and press Add to call and select another Contact.

Then when you’ve found the second person, press Merge calls

To send an MMS, simply start typing a text message and press the Attach icon to attach a picture

To maximise the viewable area when viewing websites, then you can rotate the phone to landscape mode.

This has the effect of hiding the menu toolbar and address bar so that you can see more of the website.

Your phone has a neat feature where if you’re running late for appointment, you can quickly notify the person you’re supposed to be meeting.

First, go to your Calendar App and you should see four options at the bottom. One of these should say Late and should have a symbol of a person running.

Press this and the person you’re meeting will be notified with some sorry text.

After you have finished typing a sentence, simply double tap the spacebar. This will insert a period (full stop), a space and capitalise the first word of the next sentence

To find your MAC address, go to the homescreen and scroll to the right.

Choose Settings – About. Then press More information. The MAC address should be shown next to the SIM ID.

You can also try opening the Phone app (dialler), then dial ##634# and press Call.

Then from the Diagnostics screen dial *#1234#

This may not work on all phones.

If you’re away from a charger and want to conserve your phone’s battery, then go to Settings – Battery Saver. A heart symbol should appear over your battery indicator.

This turns off various features such as push email, and some Apps will be prevented run in the background.

When it is turned on, you can also press Advanced at the top of the screen. From here you can choose when the feature gets automatically turned on, or whether it should be used permanently.
