To pair your phone with Bluetooth speakers or a headset via Bluetooth, then start from the homescreen and scroll to the right.

Then choose Settings – Bluetooth. Then slide the Bluetooth to On. The phone will then scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. It may ask for a password for the device. Try entering 0000 or 1234.

Please note that this may not work for all devices.

A Virtual Private Network or VPN is now built into Windows Phone devices. This is useful if you want to access a work or personal network while out and about.

These can be a bit tricky to setup, so you may want to ask your work’s IT department for the settings, but this can be found by going to Settings – VPN.

To turn off Geo-tagging for photos, go to Settings – Applications – Pictures & Camera.

Then change ‘include location (GPS) information in pictures you take’

In the Maps application, you can share any location with a friend. First you need to find your location. Open Maps, then find your location. Press and hold to drop a Pin on that location. You can drag the Pin to get a more precise location.

Then press the Pin and select Share. Then choose to share via SMS or Email.

To fast forward or rewind a song while playing, you need to look for two circle buttons with arrows in them.

These are used to play the previous / next tracks.

If you Press and Hold them however, you can fast forward or rewind the track.

To access Voice control, Press and Hold the Windows key. You can say things like ‘Call John’, ‘Use Calendar’, ‘Find nearest restaurant’ and so on

While entering a website address you can Press and Hold the .com key on the keyboard. This will give you the option of other domain suffixes (e.g. .org, .co.uk, .com.au etc.)

Go to the People section and find a coloured Title (the colour will depend on your Theme). Press the tile and an alphabet should appear. Start typing the name of the contact you want to dial and it will appear

To import your contacts from your SIM card, then insert the SIM and turn the phone on.

Then go to People. Hold near the top of the screen and select Import SIM contacts.

To put your phone in flight mode, or offline mode, go to Start – Applications list – Settings. Then press Flight mode.
