If you have decided to ditch your iPhone in favour of Android, then there is a simple way to take your iTunes music, playlists and album art with you.
Simply go the Android Marketplace and download a Free App called Easy Phone Tunes. You will also need the computer version of the software, so go to http://easyphonetunes.com and download it from there. ?
Then, when that is done, turn your phone into a USB storage device (this will vary from device to device, but instructions are on the website).
Once your device is connected to your computer, open the computer version of the software and select your device from the Easy Phone Tunes list. Then follow the instructions to Sync your media.
The most common and effective way to copy photos to your PC (from your Lenovo K5 Play) is to do it via a USB cable. Just plug your phone to a PC using a USB cable and wait for a notification to pop up on your phone.
This notification usually tells you that your device is charging. For some phones, it prompts the user to choose from several options. Just swipe down the notification and choose either “Transfer Photos” or “Transfer Files.”
For smartphone users who don’t see such notification, you may go to Settings → Developer Options → Networking → USB Configuration then tap on MTP (Media Transfer Protocol).
After that, check “This PC” on your desktop and see if there is a removable drive for your phone. The drive would be named as a Removable Device or it would bear the name of your brand or phone model.
Click on the drive and find the “DCIM” folder. This is where all photos and videos from your camera are stored. You can use the search bar function of the folder to find it quickly.
Using Google Photos to transfer photos on your Lenovo K5 Play
Alternatively, you can use Google Photos to copy photos from your phone to PC. This can be done when you sync and back up all your photos and videos on Google Photos. To do this, just follow these steps:
- Make sure you have set up your Google Account on your smartphone.
- Open the Google Photos app on your phone.
- Then go to its Menu (you can find this at the top).
- Find Settings then look for Back-up & Sync
- Tap / check to turn on back-up and sync.
When you do this, all your photos and videos will be saved simultaneously to your Google Photos account (via WiFi). To retrieve these photos on PC, just turn on your PC and go to photos.google.com.
Then sign in with your Google Account, and you will gain access to all your backed-up photos and videos right away! You can click on any photo and download it to save it on your PC. Just click on “More Options” on the upper right corner of the photo, and you will see a download option.

Locking your phone is a great security feature, but when you’re at home it’s normally not necessary.
A featured called Trusted Places enables you to bypass the lock screen when you’re at specific geographic places.
To set it up go to Settings – Lock screen and security – Smart lock – Trusted places. You can also set up the bypass to work when your phone is connected to specific Bluetooth devices such as Smart watches or Audio devices.
You can also override this (i.e. lock your screen when it is at the location). To override, just press and hold the padlock icon on the lock screen.
This may not work on all phones, models or networks.
To change your default font, go to Settings – Device – Display – Font. You can also change the font size here also.
Another option is to install the popular Go Launcher EX App. Then once this is installed, download their GoLauncher Fonts App.
To remove numbers from the call log that you don’t want anyone seeing, then open your Call Log.
This will normally be found on your Apps list or you can also go to your Dialler and find Logs or Call Logs.
Then press and hold on the contact you want to remove. When the Menu appears, press Delete.
If you don’t like the default A-Z way of viewing your contacts you can change this.
First, go to your Contacts App and press the Menu key or More at the top of the screen. Then select Settings.
Then choose Sort by.
Rather than having to locate the hang up icon on the screen after each call, you can quickly end a call by pressing the Power button.
To enable this feature, go to Settings – Personal – Accessibility – Answering/ending calls. Then tick The power button ends calls.
Checking Available RAM and CPU utilization on your Lenovo K5 Play is very helpful if you are thinking about removing more Apps.
Looking at which Apps drain your RAM, CPU time, and battery will help you decide which of them should be removed from your phone.
To do this, just follow the simple steps below:
- Go to your phone settings. You can do this by swiping down the home screen to reveal the notification bar. From there, tap on the gear icon to open Settings.
- Look for Device Maintenance → Memory
- Alternately, you can also tap on “Data Usage,” then scroll down to see which apps are taking up CPU power.
- You may also look for “Smart Manager.” You will see the status of your RAM and Storage in this area. If you tap RAM, you will see a list of apps that are taking up much of your RAM.
- For Huawei users, you can look for “Storage” under Settings.
All methods from 2 to 4 can be accessed on the Phone Settings alone. There are certain variations, depending on your phone or unit.
This section should also show what is taking up valuable CPU time. Useful if you think some Apps are draining your battery.
Normally you can simply insert a SIM card and you will be able to browse the internet using 3G. Sometimes, this must be setup manually however. Before you start, you will need to ask your carrier or Telco for your APN settings.
Once you have those, go to Settings – Connections – Mobile networks – Access Point Names.
From here press the Plus sign at the top right and select New APN. Then fill in the details your carrier gave you. Then press the menu button and press Save.
There are a couple of ways to bring up one of your contacts.
First, while in your Contacts App, simply start typing in the search bar at the top of the screen.
Or else a quicker method is to use the Google Search widget (installed by long pressing on a vacant part of your homescreen and installing the widget) and start typing the name of the contact you want to dial. This will quickly filter the correct contact.
