If you like to use vibration mode but you don’t want to disrupt a whole room due to the Asus Zenfone 5z vibration intensity, you can adjust or reduce that accordingly. Just follow the steps below on your phone:
- From your home screen, swipe down to open the notifications menu.
- Tap on the Settings icon (usually a gear-shaped one at the top-right portion).
- Scroll to Device then tap “Sound” or “Sounds and notifications” or “Sound & Vibration.”
- Under Sound, tap “Vibrations” or “Vibration Intensity.”
- A bar will appear where you can slide left or right to adjust the intensity of your phone’s vibration. On some phones, users can select from either Light, Medium, or Strong.
- Tap “OK.” This will automatically save your preference.
This generally works for the Asus Zenfone 5z and most Android phones.
For Huawei users, you may need to follow a slightly different method. If you use a Huawei unit, follow the instructions below instead:
- From the home screen, tap up to locate Settings.
- Then tap Settings → Strength
- Swipe up or down to adjust the vibration intensity. That’s from Strong, Soft, or None.
- Tap “OK.”
- You will be automatically reverted to the home screen. Don’t worry, your preferred vibration intensity is saved at this point.

Android has improved the facial unlock feature by creating a setting whereby you must blink when unlocking your phone. This prevents fraudsters using a photo of yourself and holding it up to the phone.
To activate this feature go to Settings – Personal – Lock screen and security – Screen lock type – Face unlock. Then setup your facial unlocking.
Then once that is done, go to Face unlock again and tick Presence check.
This may not be available on all devices.

There is no need to be stuck with the standard Android keyboard, which isn’t always great for typing quickly.
Go to the Play Store and search for ‘Keyboard’ to see some great alternatives, many of which are more accurate and make typing much easier.
One of the very best is SwiftKey. They provide a free trial, but once the trial is over it is well worth the small amount of money they charge. It can increase your typing rates massively.
Another good one is GoKeyboard.
If you see a warning saying the keyboard will collect all information (including credit cards) just ignore this. This is just a security feature that Android shows for every third-party keyboard that you install.
If you would prefer not to be told every time an Application has been updated, open the Play Store and swipe from left to right. Then select Settings and untick the Notifications options.
There are a couple of ways to add new home screens to your device.
The simplest is to go to one of your existing Homescreens and simply pinch the screen. This will show all of your Homescreens in thumbnail view. Then just press the Plus symbol to add another. You can also press and hold, then drag a Homescreen to a different position. Or press the little Home icon to make one of them your default Homescreen.
Another option is to download a Launcher App. These are third-party user interfaces that allow you to customize your phone in many ways. Most of them allow multiple homescreens. A very popular launcher which supports multiple homescreens is GoLauncher EX.
Simply go the Play Store and search for GoLauncher EX or another launcher.
To use your phone as a WiFi hotspot, tether it via USB or via Bluetooth, then go to Settings – Wireless and Network – Mobile hotspot and tethering.
You can then choose from three options:
1) USB – connect your phone via a USB cable. The phone should automatically configure the correct settings.
2) Mobile/WiFi Hotspot – To turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot, press Configure WiFi hotspot. You will then be asked to enter a Network SSID (this is your own name for the WiFi hotspot). Then choose Security and lastly, choose a password (this is password for your WiFi hotspot which you will enter on your computer).
3) Bluetooth – With this option, you will need to pair a Bluetooth device with your phone. On the other device, ensure you search for Bluetooth devices and your phone should show up.
