To stop the Photo app or the Music player from indexing your files, place a blank text file called .nomedia in the folder

To disable mobile view for websites, open your Browser and go to Menu – More – Settings – Untick ‘Mobile View’.

This option may be disabled on some phones or carriers.

If so, then download the Dolphin browser from the Android Marketplace.

Then open Dolphin – Menu – More – Settings – User Agent. Then select Desktop.

A similar option should be available with the Firefox, Opera or other third-party browsers.

A great feature is the ability to write text on the back of photos like you would with regular photos.

Simply, go to a photo and click the Menu button. Select Draw on Image. The image will then flip around showing you a blank surface. With your S Pen, draw or write whatever you want and press Done when finished.

Images with notes on them will have a Note icon on the top right corner.

You can instantly and easily share photos, documents and videos with other Galaxy users by using the S Beam feature.

First go to Settings and select Wireless and Network from the menu. Then select More settings and enable NFC (Near Field Communication).

Once that is enabled, then find a file that you want to share. Then you simply go up to another Galaxy device that has NFC enable and is S Beam compatible. Press the devices together and click on the screen to confirm.

To open a web page in a new tab, find a link on a web page. Then press on it and then choose to open the site in a new tab.

If you want to capture the things that go bump in the night, then you can turn on the Flashlight app. Then leave the film on film record. If you’re lucky you might spot a hedgehog

On most Android phones, when you rotate the phone when on Homescreen mode, the Homescreen stays in Portrait mode. One way around this is to install a third-party Launcher Application which allows you to customise your phone in many ways.

One popular launcher is called GoLauncher. Or alternatively, open the Android Market and search for the word Launcher.

To take a screenshot of the current screen you are viewing, get your S Pen and press the button whole holding down the pen on the screen.

This will capture the screen and puts the phone in Edit mode allowing you to do many things with the image.
