    To protect your phone from kids, Windows Phone comes with a Kids Corner feature.

    To activate it, go to Settings - Kids Corner and enable it. You can then enable or disable certain content that you want to prevent access to. Options include games, videos, music and apps.

    Once it is setup, swipe from Right to Left and you should see Kids Corner. And then swipe Down to Up to remove the Lock Screen.

    To turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot, then follow these instructions:

    First, go to your Start screen and swipe left and go to Settings.

    Then select Internet sharing and turn Sharing on.

    From here you can name your connection by selecting Setup - Broadcast name and entering a name.

    You can also secure your WiFi hotspot but adding a password for the connection.

    Next, go to another device and find your phone's WiFi hotspot service.

    Note: This will use your data plan, so use wisely!

    Because of the touch screen sensitivity, it can be hard to position the cursor within a certain word. To get around this, Press and Hold on a word. While dragging the cursor along the letters, pull your finger down. The cursor will move along, but you will be able to see it as your finger will be out of the way

    Your phone has a neat feature where if you're running late for appointment, you can quickly notify the person you're supposed to be meeting.

    First, go to your Calendar App and you should see four options at the bottom. One of these should say Late and should have a symbol of a person running.

    Press this and the person you're meeting will be notified with some sorry text.

    If you are using a Nokia Windows Phone, then Dolby will give you better sound quality for your music files.

    First insert your headphones, then go to Settings - Audio. From here you can adjust some predetermined settings or else you can swipe right and press Playback. This will enable Dolby playback which will improve the sound quality measurably.

    To rate your applications to help other users, go to the Applications list. Then Press and Hold on the app. Select Rate and review and give it a rating out of five

    If you're on a call, you can record the conversation. While speaking, put the phone on Speakerphone. Then hold down the Camera button to record the call.

    To import your contacts from your SIM card, then insert the SIM and turn the phone on.

    Then go to People. Hold near the top of the screen and select Import SIM contacts.

    To disable caller ID, go to Settings - Applications - Phone.

    Then change Show my Caller ID to either Everyone, No one or My contacts.

    This is useful if you don't want people to see your phone number when you call them.

    To add Google Calendar to your phone, go to Settings - Emails - Google email.

    From here you can sync your emails, contacts and calendar to the phone.
