To turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot, then follow these instructions:

First, go to your Start screen and swipe left and go to Settings.

Then select Internet sharing and turn Sharing on.

From here you can name your connection by selecting Setup – Broadcast name and entering a name.

You can also secure your WiFi hotspot but adding a password for the connection.

Next, go to another device and find your phone’s WiFi hotspot service.

Note: This will use your data plan, so use wisely!

To find an address on maps, then go to a location by panning and zooming.

Then Press and Hold on a location to drop a pin.

This will give you the address of the location you have selected.

If you would like your phone to announce who is calling you, then from the homescreen, scroll to the right and choose Settings. Then Easy of access. Then press Speech for phone accessibility.

To turn off roaming while abroad, go to Settings – Mobile network – Roaming.

This can save you from getting stung on high call charges while overseas.

To soft reset your phone, hold down the power button for a few seconds.

Then wait for 5-10 seconds and hold down the power button again to restart the phone.

If the phone is really frozen, then try holding down the power button for around 10 seconds to turn it off.

A neat feature is the idea of Rooms, which allow other Windows Phone users to share pictures, chat, make appointments and so on.

First, go to the People Hub and the word ‘together’ should appear. From here press the ‘+’ key at the bottom and then choose Room. Then choose a name and press the save button (floppy disc symbol) at the bottom.

Next, you can press the ‘+’ at the bottom and add people to the room, just like you would navigate your Contact list.

When you’ve added everyone you want to include, press the Tick symbol and your contacts will now be told about the new Room (assuming they have a Windows Phone).

To share websites that you are browsing on Facebook or Twitter, you can simply press the More (…) and then select Share page.

OneNote is a great App for taking notes and syncs them on the Cloud and across all devices that you have OneNote setup for.

To set this up, go to your App Drawer and load OneNote. From here you can make, edit or share notes. To search for specific notes you can use the magnifying glass and press the + key to add a new note.

To improve focus while using the Camera app, you can press on a specific spot on the screen to focus there.

Also, when taking photos, press the Camera button down halfway to focus. Then depress it fully to take the photo.

To clear your browsing history so that no one can see which websites you have been browsing, go to Settings – Applications – Search.

Then select Delete History
