A handy feature with Mango is the ability to update your Facebook status with your voice.

If you haven’t already done so, you will need to Register a Phone and Activate Text Messaging. To set this up, log in to your Facebook account and go to Account Settings. Then on the left side, click Mobile, then click Add a Phone. You will be asked to enter your password and your phone settings. You will then be asked to send a text to Facebook to confirm your phone. Facebook will then send you a confirmation code to your phone, which you will then need to type into Facebook to complete the setup.

Next you will need to set Facebook up as a Contact on your phone. Go to the People Hub, press the Plus (+) icon, then press New Contact, then enter Facebook for the Contact’s name. Then enter the phone number as 32665. (you may need to check this here http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=217343558285214 if you don’t live in the UK, US or other common countries)

Once that is setup, you just say Text Facebook on your phone. Then speak your message and say Send. This will then send the message to Facebook which will update your status.

Sometimes while trying to download a game from the Marketplace an error will occur and the download will stop.

To resume the download, open the Marketplace tile and choose Games. Find the game that is having the problem and select ‘Check install’. Then when you’re in the Marketplace downloads screen long-press on the error and choose ‘try again’

When viewing your photos or videos, you can view them in filmstrip mode. Open a picture or video, then pinch it as if you shrink it. You can then view several in filmstrip mode.

This will work better when your phone is tilted into landscape mode.

If you prefer not to have the ‘Sent from my Windows Phone’ message at the bottom of emails, then here is how to remove it:

Go into Mail and press the 3 dots at the bottom of the screen. Select Settings and change it there

This is useful if you don’t want people to know that emails are being sent from your phone.

To delete multiple emails, then open your mail App so you are viewing your list of emails. Then tap the Left side of the screen.

A menu will slide out to the right, displaying some tick boxes.

Tick the emails you want to delete and then press the Rubbish bin icon.

The phone’s Browser is designed to use as much of the phone’s screen as possible, however this means the status bar is usually hidden.

To quickly view the status bar with Time, Battery Indicator and Signal Strength, quickly press More (…) or the Address Bar. This will show the bar. Alternatively you can press and hold the More button and drag it up slightly to reveal the status bar. Drag it down again to discard it.

To move a tile to another location, simply press and hold a tile. Then drag it to another location

Go to your Pictures tile. Select the Picture you want as the background. Press and Hold on the picture. Then select Change background. You can then adjust the picture by zooming or panning. You can also allow the phone to randomly choose a picture by pressing, holding and selecting ‘Change it for me’

While playing a song, press the Album cover. This will then give you the option to rate the song. Press the heart to Love It. Press it again to Hate It. Then when you sync your phone, it won’t sync the music you don’t like

When in your Email application, you can Press and Hold on individual emails. This will give you a menu whereby you can Delete, Mark as unread, Move or Set a flag to your emails
