This September is shaping up to be a great month for smartphone enthusiasts with the launch of Nokia’s latest Lumia phones, the anticipated launch of the iPhone 5, and now Motorola have announced three new Droid Razr phones at a special event in New York City.

The phones represent Motorola’s first major launch since Google acquired them last September for $12.5 billion, and even Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt turned up to lend weight to the occasion.

The smartphones will also be the first to ship with Google’s Chrome mobile browser which is said to run 40% faster than the iPhone 4S runs Safari.

All three phones will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, however they will be upgradeable to ICS 4.1 “Jelly Bean” by the end of the year.

And lastly, the Maxx HD, which is essentially the same as the Razr HD but with a staggering 3,300mAh battery which does add some weight and heft to the device. The battery offers around 21 hours of talk time or 32 hours of “mixed use" activity. It will also come with 32Gb of internal memory.
